The Original America

I recently came across a very interesting 3D modeling project. It is a series of highly detailed and very accurate models of the White House, by Pete Sharkey. You can view and download the models at The White House Museum. You can also view Pete’s ongoing Sketchup work on his Blog. This is amazing stuff. In a time when most 3D modelers are spending their time creating video game characters, pimped versions of cars, and other useless stuff, it’s refreshing to see so much effort devoted to re-creating a National Landmark.
